YOU TOO CAN RE-WRITE YOUR STORY

My father in the Lord, Pastor David Adelowo often says, that if traveling overseas and being successful is being sprinkled like water on people, it wouldn't have touched him and his siblings, if not for God's mercies.

He grew up in poverty and the few opportunities he had growing up, he had to struggle for them.

He stayed with a relative of his whose kids were traveling overseas almost every year yet, while he watched his cousins go for summer holidays overseas to nations of the world, he never got the opportunity to even step on a plane.

Today, he is successful, serving God and empowering many others.

Why am I sharing this with you?

It is possible that you were born poor.

It's very possible that you were abandoned and rejected by your parents.

It's possible that no one liked you growing up and no one cared for you.

It's very possible you grew up wishing you never came to this world.

Whatever permutation and combination life had for you when you came into this world, I am glad to announce to you that they do not count when it comes to who you will turn out to become.

Your success has been predestined, irrespective of your past.

The world was designed for people who believe they can rewrite their own story. You too can rewrite your story.

History is laden with men and women who chose to defile the horrors of their background and refuse to lay their backs on the ground.

Men and women who chose to take responsibility for their lives and not blame anyone for their predicaments.

Jesus was born in a manger but He didn't let the manger define His life. He was determined to fulfil His purpose here on earth.

You too change rise up and beat the limitations of your past, usurp the pains of your upbringing and defile the shame of your background.

Your purpose is more valuable than your past. Don't let your past divorce you from the future God has for you.

I believe in you.

You Need Clarity of Purpose
August 24, 2025
In 2017, I applied to speak at TEDx. Rejected. In 2018, I applied again. Rejected. In 2019, I applied twice—both times, again, rejected. But I didn’t stop. Why? Because I was stubborn about my purpose. Like the widow in Luke 18 who kept returning to the judge, pleading for justice, I kept showing up. I kept believing that one day, the door would open. Eventually, it did. That TEDx stage didn’t come because I was the most eloquent or the most visible—it came because I refused to give up. I’ve learnt that any success you desire in life will demand persistence. Not talent, not applause, not connections—persistence. When all else fails, try persistence. When clarity is blurry, try persistence. When the applause is absent and the doors are locked—try persistence. Seest thou a man diligent in his work? He shall stand before kings (Proverbs 22:29). If I could share one counsel with every dreamer, it would be this: Be stubborn about your purpose. Be relentless in your pursuit. For in due season, you will reap—if you faint not. I believe in you.
