SAY NO TO MEDIOCRITY!

SAY NO TO MEDIOCRITY!

A few days ago, a professional videographer and editor sent me a message on LinkedIn.

He had noticed a part of my video that I do so excellently well and he's been struggling to do the same for his clients.

In his message, he asked about the software I use and the secret of my excellence in that area.

When I got the email, I ran to my wife and told her about it. I couldn't believe it.

I was stunned that someone with over 10 years of experience in the industry will ask a hobbyist like me such a question.

I proceeded to share my secret with him and he was very thankful.

Why am I sharing this with you?

I want you to be excellent at anything you do!

Reject the lure of mediocrity like it's a plague!

Even if it's not your calling, the fact that you have to do it, give your all.

Even if you’re at a job you don't like, or a job that is temporary, give your best!

I have a personal value - it's either I'm in or not! I can't be in and be mediocre.

This is why I say No to a lot of things and a lot of people. The moment I can project I won't be able to give my best and be excellent, I am out!

I am not perfect but this is my watchword.

When people see you or your works, let them associate you with Excellence.

Always remember this, excellence makes you unforgettable, valuable, and sought-after.

I believe in you.

You Need Clarity of Purpose
August 24, 2025
In 2017, I applied to speak at TEDx. Rejected. In 2018, I applied again. Rejected. In 2019, I applied twice—both times, again, rejected. But I didn’t stop. Why? Because I was stubborn about my purpose. Like the widow in Luke 18 who kept returning to the judge, pleading for justice, I kept showing up. I kept believing that one day, the door would open. Eventually, it did. That TEDx stage didn’t come because I was the most eloquent or the most visible—it came because I refused to give up. I’ve learnt that any success you desire in life will demand persistence. Not talent, not applause, not connections—persistence. When all else fails, try persistence. When clarity is blurry, try persistence. When the applause is absent and the doors are locked—try persistence. Seest thou a man diligent in his work? He shall stand before kings (Proverbs 22:29). If I could share one counsel with every dreamer, it would be this: Be stubborn about your purpose. Be relentless in your pursuit. For in due season, you will reap—if you faint not. I believe in you.
